Rather than publishing a lot of blog posts this week, I was busy reading few a new blogs I discovered. I stumbled across a blog called Mama Mummy Mum written by the lovely Chantelle. Make sure you have a read. I found some interesting stuff on it.
Anyway, the first of December she started a Christmas related linky which will run up to Christmas about your favourite things at Christmas. Whether that’s your favourite book, your favourite song or favourite movie. She create 10 questions she would like you to answer and link up your post. You can do this by doing so either in a post or a video. She created a video which I found very cute with one of her girls answering the questions with her. Here we go:
1. What is your favourite Christmas Song?
I actually have two favourite Christmas Songs. One of them being “Fairytales of New York” sung by the Pogues and “Stop the Cavalry” by Jona Lewie.
2. What is your favourite Christmas Book?
I am not really into books to be honest. I hardly get time to read one but from the children’s book I like Stick Man. The rhymes are beautiful written and Matthew likes listening to it.
3. What is your favourite Christmas film?
Has to be “The Singing Ringing Tree” which is a typical German movie from 1957. It’s something I like watching even though it is really old. My mum bought me the DVD of it a few Christmases ago so I can watch it whenever I want to.
4. What is your favourite Christmas tradition?
Probably putting up all the decorations, listening to Christmas songs and making an advent wreath with the 4 candles on it for the middle of the table.
5. What is your favourite Christmas memory?
There are probably way too many to mention them all here because Christmas is special every year and you can hardly remember them all unless written down. But my favourite memory is Christmas 2011 when we spent Christmas in my home country Germany and we told my mum we were expecting our first child Matthew.
6. What has been your all time favourite Christmas present?
I received so many nice present as a child and over the last few years. It’s hard to call which one was the best one. I do like my games so I have to say a Nintendo DS I got from my mum a few years ago. It’s still going strong, even though my son likes using it and it’ covered in Peppa Pig stickers now.
7. What is your favourite Christmas food?
Brussels Sprouts, red cabbage and dumplings with duck. You might have guess, it’s a German dish.
8. What is your favourite Christmas drink?
A glass of mulled wine. I love it the most when you have it outside at Christmas market.
9. What is your favourite Christmas decoration?
The advent wreath I made in the above photo.
10. What is your favourite Christmas advert?
Favourite ad of all time has to be the Coca Cola truck ad. It’s original and who doesn’t love it. The first time it comes on TV means it’s Christmas. Another recent ad I love watching is the German ad for the super market Edeka. Check it out below.
Now it’s your turn. Let’s be festive.
I love it when the Coca-Cola trick adverts start! Love this linky!
aw what a lovely linky. I’m feeling all festive now! Are you all done for Christmas.
I’m not a mulled wine fan, but I did discover mulled cider at Hyde Park winter wonderland a few years ago that I love. Must make some this year
That is one of my favourite Christmas Songs too, well apart from the Christmas Legend that is Shakin Stevens with ‘Merry Christmas everyone’ It really feels like Christmas when I hear these songs on the Radio, I haven’t heard them yet!
I love mulled wine too, and still haven’t managed to have a mug yet. I’m really hoping I get chance when I visit London next week. Lovely idea for a post
What a lovely idea for favourite things at Christmas, I want to try that German duck meal next time I visit sounds delicious

I haven’t actually read it to Matthew in a while now. I really have to stick up that bookshelf in his room for him. Right now all Christmas related books are on his chair.
Fairytale of New York is my favourite Christmas song too. It’s quite sad but there’s something so quintessentially Christmas about it for me. I just read Stick Man to TL the other night, like you I really like the rhyming of it.
Ooooh how have i not come across this link already, what a brilliant idea, will be giving this a go myself. You can’t beat mulled wine at Christmas, although i’m quite partial to a mug of snowman soup too (AKA Hot chocolate with mini marshmallows!). xxx
Brilliant answers, I love Stop The Cavalry too and I can’t resist a glass of mulled wine 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up with #myfavxmas linky
Me, u and Matthew watch this, this year:
“The Singing Ringing Tree” 🙂
