A few weeks ago I said to myself that we are going to do a lot more walks as a family together at the weekend. It’s so nice to be able to do stuff as a 4 piece.
I might have mentioned in my blog post a while ago that I had purchased a second hand Phil & Ted double buggy. I haven’t used it at all until last weekend. Matthew is a big fan sitting in it especially when it’s raining. He loves having the rain cover over him which he calls “tent” or “house”. There’s way more space in it than there was in the MacClaren. I am pushing Chloe in her pram then as she’s not big enough to sit in the back yet.
So we really started off the family walks last weekend but today we were super duper good. We went on 2 walks! After a refreshment for Matthew we headed off to Hazelwood which is a local forest.
Hazelwood is always special to me and hubby to walk in. This is where we had our first date 6 1/2 years ago and I laid eyes on him from that day (and laid my head on his shoulder as he can probably remember). Awwwww.
We started off looking at the ducks first, well Matthew chased them more than anything but he loved it. Next time we are planning to feed them.
After visiting the ducks we went on our walk trail. Matthew did brilliant. He walked all the way and didn’t want up one time. I have to say the trail is quite some distance and last time we did it he wanted up multiple times. So well done Matthew.
Giving Chloe a push.
On our walk Matthew was busy collecting leaves. He made sure daddy, Mammy and him had one each.
Back at the lake we went over to the ducks one more time and daddy and Matthew went closer to them and daddy pointed them out to him.
This was a great day and a good way to end the weekend before daddy heads off to work tomorrow again. Next weekend will be even better because it’s bank holiday in Ireland.
Are you going for family walks regularly? What have you planned for the long weekend ahead?
Can beat a good walky!!! We love going on outdoor walks as a family. Lovely photos. Thanks for linking up to Share With Me I hope you are enjoying my blog hop and thanks for all the linky support! #sharewithme
