For the last month it was rather difficult to find photos that show the two of them together. Only for the fact that we are back from our staycation in Kerry, I would have had only one photo to post. That clearly shows we have not been up too much at all. And that’s probably the truth.
Late June or beginning of July hubby and me decided to randomly take off two weeks in August to spend with the kids. This gave us room to book a mini holiday. Having the kids in creche over the whole Summer break I felt a bit bad. This breaks it up nicely. On the other side I am quite happy Matthew is not in creche at the moment. Over two weeks ago, he managed to fracture his elbow in creche. He has been wearing a cast for over two weeks now. We have an appointment next Friday and the plan is to take it off and hopefully it’s all healed. Fingers crossed. I prefer keeping an eye on him with it than having to worry what he is up to in creche with it every minute.
The end of last month we managed to visit the Imaginosity children’s museum. With Matthew exploring every aspect of the museum, Chloe really came out of her shell and followed her big brother around the place. They loved messing and playing together. She really looks up to him.
Another day… on a rainy day in fact, we decided to pay a visit to the cinema as we haven’t been as a family in a long time. So over two weeks ago we went to see Hotel Transylvania 3. Matthew enjoyed the movie and all the treats he got which included a bag of sweets and a small bag of popcorn. I have Chloe figured out on the other hand now though. The cheeky little monkey wants to watch a movie because she is getting sweets and treats. After that she gets bored of the movie and wants to go home. Smart move.
Lately they are fighting a bit more like cat and dog. I think it has got to do with Matthew’s arm though. He gets more attention from us than Chloe would as he can’t do certain things and needs help. So there has been a few tears here and there.
However there is times where they love sharing and play together nicely. Their latest game is role play. While we were on holidays last week, they were setting up a pretend shop in the hotel room. Chloe was the shop with all the different ice cream flavours and Matthew was the shop with all the sweets. It was cute to watch I have to say.
Over the past two weeks Matthew got into playing the Nintendo Switch. I think this means it’s the start of him becoming a little gamer. We keep it in frame though. He knows Chloe is not able to play it properly yet but he still likes his little sister to be beside him and watch or trying to play. They are the best of friends really.
It’s just two weeks until Matthew’s sixth birthday. Matthew has been talking about it for weeks, if not even months. He said if Chloe is a good girl she is allowed to come to his party. Until then, we have a lot of planning to do.
