Matthew is at the age now where he understands family/board/educational games. It’s great that he can now interact with us, tell us what’s wrong and explain what he sees. The learning stage between the age of 3 and 4 is starting and I love the fact that I can now play these games with him.
When Orchard Toys got in touch to review one of their newly relaunched games, I was delighted. The game is called “Shopping List“. It got a fresher look and works pretty much the same as a memory game. First I didn’t think Matthew would understand it, but after one or 2 rounds he quickly got it.
In a nutshell you pick from a basket or a shopping trolley, then you pick from 4 different shopping lists. Next you turn all the ingredient cards upside down. Decide who is starting off the game. If you don’t have a match, show the round what you picked and put it back. Continue this, until you filled the basket/shopping trolley. You need to get 8 items.
Matthew absolutely loved playing this game. He kept asking me to do it again. Definitely hours of fun. And also the good thing about it is, he learns more words that he didn’t know before.
The “Shopping List” game is suitable for children from the age of 3 to 7 years of age. It can be played with 2 – 4 players.
This game helps your child to develop matching and memory skills, personal and social skills and encourages observational skills. It might be something on the wish list for your kids for Christmas, as it is the number one selling game for over 10 years now.
I am new to Orchard toys and I can’t believe that I have never purchased any games/toys off them in the past. This will definitely be one of my to go to brands from now on.
The memory game can be purchased in any toy shop with Smyths Toystore the most obvious one at a cost of £7.50.
Orchard Toys kindly allowed me to give one Shopping List to my readers. All you have to do is enter via Rafflecopter below. The giveaway is only open to residents from the UK and Ireland and will end 12th October. Good luck!
Disclaimer I was sent this product for the purpose of a review. The opinions and photos are my very own.
