Sleep is an important fact in our house. I know it can be hard with two small children in the house. Over the years we have found our routine with them and divided up the nights between us. That way everyone gets enough sleep to function. Both of us, daddy and mummy, have full time jobs which involves sitting in front of the computer all day. Having bags underneath your eyes then and speaking to customers on the phone, isn’t the best. Our tip is, go to bed earlier if possible.
I am a bit obsessed with tracking my sleep since I have the Fitbit Charge 2. Hubby doesn’t really use it for tracking his sleep but using the S+ by ResMed has gotten him really into it. In fact we were delighted to take part in reviewing the new non-contact sleep solution.
So what can the S+ offer?
- It measures your breathing and body movements throughout the night
- It analyzes light, noise and temperature levels in your bedroom
- It creates daily sleep scores and charts to help you understand your sleep pattern
- It delivers personalized feedback based on your sleep pattern, bedroom environment and daily habits
- It syncs seamlessly with your smartphone or tablet
When we received the S+ our first step was to download the associated app which is available on Android devices as well as Apple devices. You then create your own account with a couple of questions regarding your lifestyle and your sleep pattern. To me it was really impressive what they ask you. Pair your phone with the S+ with a few simple steps.
The pod can be held up with the frame but you can also use it without it. It all depends on how high or low your bed is.
To compare your sleep, it is advisable to collect three days of data.
The sleep score divides into different stages. On one side it tells you the ideal score you should have and on the left hand side it shows you what you actually got that night.
REM is the time you have dreams, furthermore there is deep sleep, light sleep, disruption time and onset.
There are so much more aspects to this sleep monitor other what we used and tested. The “Mind Clear” feature, for example, offers simple text and voice tools for recording tomorrow’s to-do list so you can go to sleep with a calm, uncluttered mind. Instead of waking you up at a set time, Smart Alarm aims to gently wake you from light sleep close to when you need to be up, helping you feel more refreshed.
What did we think of the S+?
I wouldn’t necessarily say it improved by hubby’s sleep but it definitely helped him to be more refreshed for the day. We really like the the daily feedback you get. If you don’t reach a certain amount hours of sleep, the app will tell you to stay hydrated.
It is very easy to use and the fact that it’s non-contact, you don’t have to depend on wearing a wristband all night. My hubby is not a fan of that. I’d say this will be used continuously used throughout the next coming months and we will get to know all the hidden features, too.
Disclaimer: I was sent the product for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own as always.

I love recording my sleep lol xxx
This looks fab, I always want to track my sleep but I’m not sure how! x
Oh wow! This is so interesting. I wouldn’t want to teach mine as I’d realise how little sleep I actually get! ? Xxx
This is really interesting to see what goes on. I go through phases of really bad sleep now (just in my 40s) whereas previously you’d have to wake me up so I’d feed 2 screaming twins next to me!!
This sounds fab. My husband and I have both been sleeping awfully lately so something like this might be a good idea xx
