I am a bit behind on my pre school book review at the moment. December has just been so busy with Christmas preparation. For the month of November we received this festive little looking book from Parragon books “Jingle, Jingle, Little Reindeer.” Just in time for the Christmas season.
We loved reading this one. It’s not only for my 3 year old son, Chloe loved looking and laughing at the reindeer puppet too. Hand puppet books is a big success with kids in my opinion. We have two of these already but one with a pig and one with a spider. I must get them out for the 2 of them again actually.
This book is simple and small. Wiggle the reindeer hand puppet with your finger and make your way through the story to end up at Santa’s sleigh on time. This is very cute written I have to say. Both kids enjoyed it and if you don’t have the time for a long story one night before bedtime, then this little hard book is definitely for you and your child.
The illustration on each page is well made and it concentrates more on the scene than the writing which is always just one sentence on a page. I think this is what keeps the children glued to the book. Matthew is one of those children who prefers looking at the pictures rather than mummy reading an essay of a story.
Stay tuned for December’s book review.
