It’s already day six of the new year. Some of you may or may not have been to reality already. Matthew is back to school tomorrow and it’s time to start the normal routine again which is making lunch every night…not missed at all.
The first day of the new year we thought we would get out of the house and start it properly. We hibernated enough in the house over the Christmas period.
Just a ten minute from our house we have an entertainment centre called K Bowl. As the name says, it mostly involved bowling but it also has an arcade floor beside it and upstairs. As well as a soft play area for the kids.
It has actually been a while since we last been bowling. I think Matthew must have been three years old at the time and wasn’t too interested in it.
This time round, it was a complete different story. He enjoyed every bit of it and was a bit sad when it was over. A family of four for one hour is €29. Pricey enough but still cheaper than in some other places.
I remember back in the day, when I still lived in Germany, my mum and her friends would organise a bowling evening every few months with a few nibbles. It was always such a laugh. I am quite competitive when it comes to bowling. Probably because of the many many years of playing.
The hour went by pretty quickly but while everyone had to wait for their turn, we were munching on some popcorn.
After the bowling we went next door and tried out a few arcade games, such as riding a horse and playing basket ball. The upstairs games were turned off unfortunately. Matthew was really looking forward to play the Mario Kart game, maybe next time.
Chloe on the other hand really enjoyed smashing the sharks and enjoying a ride on a Koala bear car.
If we ever go out specifically for arcade games, we might drive down to Bray as they have a huge arcade centre. We’ve been there before and the kids really enjoyed it. You really need a lot of coins when you go to these places.
Have you done anything nice on the first day of the year?
