I have to admit even before hubby and I had children we have never been on a holiday together. To some that might sound awful but there are reasons to that and the main reason really was the money. Of course we went to Germany once a year but I don’t count that as a holiday to be honest. It was to visit my family.
When Matthew got older I did plan on going on a holiday as the 3 of us but the idea must have got lost somewhere. The only holiday we’ve been on was to Cork. In fairness it was a 4 1/2 hours drive so I count that as a holiday. Mini break even.
Now that Chloe came along we have to wait with the holiday again until she gets older. I would have planned on one next year but we have so much going on with the wedding organizations that it would be unrealistic to organize a holiday on top of that.
But when we do get away finally there are a few destinations I would like to visit as a family.
1. Peppa Pig WorldMatthew is a huge fan of Peppa Pig. This would be the perfect theme park for him to go wild in. Either one of us will have to go with him or Chloe has to be a certain age so it’s definitely on the list.
I seen many bloggers recently blogging about this theme park. Matthew used to be big into watching Thomas the tank engine. Not so much anymore now but he is obsessed with trains so this would be definitely something for him in the near future.
Located in Windsor, UK this is one of many Lego lands resort in the world. Not only Matthew would enjoy this I am sure daddy would too.
There has been a lot of talks about this family resorts in my little August Mummy 2012 group. Some of them have been a couple of times. It’s so family friendly and it looks brilliant. The only downside is that you will have to book well in advance to get your little home for the one or two weeks you are staying.
Roquetas De Mar is located in the south east mainland part of Spain. I’ve been going on holidays with my mum a lot in the past here. Probably 10 times to date. I just love keep coming back. So that’s the reason I would like to bring Matthew and Chloe one day too.
Who doesn’t have this place on their list? The last time I’ve been to Disneyland was 20 years ago. Which means it is long overdue to go back. Its definitely not just a place to have fun in for kids.
I’ve never been to Portugal before. I hear most people are staying in the Algarve area. I would definitely consider taking the kids here one day.
Have you planned on going on holidays this year? How old were your kids before you thought it would be ok for them?

Haha I would love to go to all those theme parks with rides. 🙂
So many nice places – I’m off to Portugal on holiday this week! Would love to go to legoland. Not for the kids, just for me! #TheList
A great wishlist – and it’s important to have one, so you can aim for things. I totally agree that money is always the biggest factor. I hope you get to do some of these soon – Peppa Pig World is awesome as is Legoland. They are always doing special 2 for 1 vouchers etc. #TheList
All of those places look fabulous! Peppa Pig world and Thomasland are definite musts when you have little ones #thelist
