Welcome back to “A Day in a Parenting Blogger’s Life”. We are on week three. Can you believe it?
Today we have Emily from Twin Mummy and Daddy. Read below about a day in a life of Twin Mummy and Daddy.
1. First of all, tell me a bit about yourself.
I’m 29 and I live in Cardiff with my husband and four year old twin girls. I work part time, two days a week, in an office based job and then spend the rest of week looking after our children and blogging!
2. How many times were you woken last night?
Way too many! One of our twins had a cough and the other wanted cuddles! Our super king size bed was the best investment we ever made!
3. Do you co-sleep?
Yes. I wasn’t fussed to be honest. I like my sleep! I guess my husband kind of started it when he let one of our girls come into bed with us and it’s continued from there! We all sleep, so I’m not too bothered about it anymore!
4. What time do you normally wake up? Around 7am.
5. How much average sleep do you get a night? On the whole, I’d say six hours.
6. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Oh no! What a question! I should say cuddle the kids and make breakfast, but in truth I go to the social media hub, also known as the bathroom so that I can schedule my tweets for the day in peace! Tut tut!
7. Tell me about your typical morning routine.
After scheduling my tweets, I’ll make breakfast for the girls and help them to eat it. If I don’t they’d still be sat at the table an hour later having not touched a thing! Then I’ll have a quick shower, get the kids and myself dressed, hair and teeth brushed. Then give the kids a quick snack before walking to school. Whilst the girls are in school I stay home and work on my blog. That’s when I’m not in my office job. I’ll pick the girls up from school, make them tea, usually play games with them and they’ll go to bed. When they’re in bed I usually blog some more in between watching TV!
8. When and how often do you prepare the family dinners? Give us a few examples what you would cook.
I always cook. Not always the same thing as the girls like different things. One could have spaghetti and meatballs, whilst the other has chicken nuggets and chips, but one meal they do love is cheesy pasta! R has it with broccoli and M with sweetcorn.
9. What’s on the menu for lunch?
For me? Well, I’m trying to be good so at the moment tuna or chicken, with either veg or brown rice, maybe even cous cous and some spinach.
10. What activities have you got planned for the day for the kids?
If they’re not in school, I like to go outdoors with them so usually the park, for a walk or the garden. On weekends maybe bowling or the cinema, or a day trip.
11. Do you generally eat dinner together as a family or get the kids fed first?
Kids usually eat first, then I’ll eat when my husband comes from work. We always sit down to eat together on a Sunday and have a traditional chicken dinner.
12. What do you do after dinner?
Play games, watch tv, hide in a cupboard and eat chocolate so I don’t have to share it with the kids!
13. What is your bedtime routine?
The girls will get pjs on around 6.20, have a bedtime story and then they’re usually asleep by 7pm.
14. Most importantly, when and where do you normally blog in those 24 hours? Do you have a schedule?
I blog when I can. Usually when the girls are in school. I tend to sit at my dining table. I don’t have a schedule, but I’m organised and use to do lists to keep track of what needs doing.

Aw no, maybe change the bedtime routine around? My kids go to bed at the same time every night. I am strict on that. I love me time lol

That’s why I started this series. I love reading these kind of things.
I love reading parents interviews and I am very impressed with the early bedtime! That’s the hardest battle for me: no matter how tired my kids are, they seem to have an endless amount of energy, unlike me….
Always so great to read other people’s lives and relief that youre not doing it totally wrong!
