Welcome back to week five of my blog series “A Day in a Parenting Blogger’s Life”. You have been all so amazing for joining in to my new blog series. Who doesn’t like to look into a day of a parenting blogger?
This week we have Louise who blogs at Tattooed Lady with a Baby.
First of all, tell me a bit about yourself.
Full time working mama of one little boy, I’m always in rush and never have enough time in my day!
How many times were you woken last night?
None
Do you co-sleep?
We did when Luke was smaller, well he’d always start the night in his cot but end up in our bed later in the night. Not so much now since we moved him into his toddler bed.
What time do you normally wake up?
Weekdays my alarm is set for 6.20am/6.30am and the weekends 7am, sometimes 7.30am if Luke decides to sleep on
How much average sleep do you get a night?
About 6 and a half hours
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Open the curtains and go down and put the kettle on
Tell me about your typical morning routine.
Weekdays I get up first, put the kettle on, get Luke a drink of milk and go back upstairs to get ready for work. Once I’m sorted I then get Luke ready if James is already gone and then I drop him to his nannys house. Weekends are more relaxed, we have swimming on a Saturday morning and Sunday is for chilling out.
When and how often do you prepare the family dinners? Give us a few examples what you would cook.
I mostly do family dinners at the weekend or any day off I have. My partner usually works evenings and Luke would have dinner at his Nanny’s during the week. We would have chilli con carne, Bolognese pasta bake, chicken kiev and homemade chips and sweetcorn, roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings.
What’s on the menu for lunch?
Work lunch is usually either soup, crackers and cheese or a wrap. Weekends we would have fresh rolls and rashers
What activities have you got planned for the day for the kids?
Visiting the playground, exploring the country side, collecting stones on the beach, we spend a lot of time outside. Inside we would sand, play doh, baking
Do you generally eat dinner together as a family or get the kids fed first?
A bit of both really, most Saturday nights we have dinner when Luke is bed and it’s usually something enchiladas or tacos
What do you do after dinner?
Quick clean up and then play before the bedtime routine kicks in
What is your bedtime routine?
We head upstairs about 6.30pm for a bath, I get Luke’s clothes out for the next day and then play with his bath toys for a while. After getting dried and dressed we head downstairs for his milk drink and a book on the couch, then back upstairs for a book and straight into bed. He is usually in bed by 7.20pm
Most importantly, when and where do you normally blog in those 24 hours? Do you have a schedule?
I tend to blog in the evenings or at work on my lunch break. I write down ideas that come to me during the day and go back to them when I have a chance.
Thanks Louise for an insight of your day. It’s nice to have a working mum on board for once. This is my kind of day too.

Lovely interview, love Louise’s blog x
Great insights – I work part time and blog full time and somehow mum in between!
I’ve not come across this blog before, will go and check her out. I can’t imagine how full time working mums fit it all in – am most impressed x
