Good morning all. Another week over we are off to Sligo this afternoon. I am on a half day. Hubby is attending a tennis tournament in Sligo so we thought we visit our old home. It will be interesting to see how the kids are going to react.
This morning featuring on the blog is Joanna who blogs at Joanna Victoria. I have followed her blog for quite some time now.
First of all, tell me a bit about yourself.
Hi, I’m Joanna, wife to my lovely husband Stuart and first time mummy to Blake who is 2.
I started blogging back in 2012 as a hobby whilst looking for work. Since having Blake and being a SAHM I’ve got even more passionate about blogging and sharing our lives as a family of 3.
How many times were you woken last night?
We have been extremely luckily with Blake as he has always been a good sleeper. The only issue we have at the moment is keeping him in bed at night to begin with however once he settles he doesn’t wake in the night. Blake woke us up this morning just after 8am.
Do you co-sleep?
No it’s not something we’ve really felt comfortable in doing.
What time do you normally wake up?
Whenever Blake wakes me which is usually any time between 7-8am
How much average sleep do you get a night?
When it comes to Blake’s bedtime routine we are pretty strict with it and he is always in bed by 8:30 pm at the latest. Most of the time he is in bed by 8pm, I on the other hand end up going to bed late between 11pm and 12am as I find it hard to drop off to sleep.
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Get Blake’s milk ready, he is so impatient. It’s the first thing I have to do before giving him breakfast and changing his nappy.
Tell me about your typical morning routine
Once Blake is having breakfast, I’ll have mine and then a mug or two of coffee. I then empty and fill the dishwasher before showering and getting myself ready for the day. Then I just get any chores that are needed done such as laundry.
When and how often do you prepare the family dinners? Give us a few examples what you would cook.
I hate cooking so Stuart does it every day as he loves cooking. When I did cook I loved making the usual spaghetti bolognese, casseroles, stews, fajitas, etc.
What’s on the menu for lunch?
Today I am having a slimming world soup that I picked from Iceland the other day.
Blake will have his usual toast, grapes and Organix carrot sticks that he loves. He is so fussy so it’s hard to get him to try anything new.
What activities have you got planned for the day for the kids?
Blake’s currently jumping around on his trampoline, we are going to go to the park this afternoon as it’s Blake’s favourite place to be. We will also be playing ball games and I’ll get out some puzzles and try and fit a craft activity in. Each day is different depending on how busy I am and also what groups are on
Do you generally eat dinner together as a family or get the kids fed first?
We tend to try and eat at the same time however Blake likes to be fed rather than use cutlery himself so we find most nights one of us is feeding him while the other eats.
What do you do after dinner?
We have chilled out time before bed. Blake will play quietly before we begin his bed time routine.
What is your bedtime routine?
Once Blake is in bed I love to get into my Pjs and get into bed with a bar of chocolate and read a book or watch something on Netflix until I get tired and then I’ll brush my teeth and go to sleep.
I also sometimes use the time before bed to get some much needed blogging done.
Most importantly, when and where do you normally blog in those 24 hours? Do you have a schedule?
I am not the best at having a set schedule when it comes to blogging. It does need to change as at the moment I fit it in when I can like when Blake is having a nap or when Stuart is around to keep Blake entertained.
Thanks for joining in Joanna. I’d love a husband who cooks but unfortunately the pressure is on me.
