Behind the Scenes Blogging Tag

I found another tag on Northumberland Mam’s Blog. This time it’s blogging related. I love the old tag and answering questions. The good thing about it is, it gives you an insight of what I do and how I do it as a blogger. Any other blogger reading this and who hasn’t done this tag, is more than welcome to join in.

1. Where do you blog?

I generally blog on the couch in the living room in my little L corner. Sometimes I blog in bed when the youngest is unsettled at night. I do wish to have my own little blogging corner because it gets too comfy on the couch sometimes and I get carried away with other stuff and don’t concentrate on the blogging as much.

2. Where do you find inspiration for your blog posts?

I run into a lot of blocks at the moment, this is the main reason why I am not as active on the blog lately. I think it has also got to do with the fact that me and the kids got a bit of cabin fever the last 3 weeks because they both had chickenpox. But generally I get the inspiration from other bloggers, or reading the news, magazines or just simply out and about and you see something and think “Oh that would do a great blog post”.

3. How long does it take you to write a blog post?

On average it will take me about 1 hour. Reviews can take up to two hours including the time I spend on editing the photos.

4. Do you plan your blog posts? How?

In the past I tried to plan my blog posts but if I have nothing to write about, then there is nothing I need to plan. I write my post on the day and post it straight away. The odd on is scheduled for the next morning using the scheduler on WordPress.

5. What kind of camera do you use? What editing program?

Mainly I use my phone which is a Samsung Galaxy S6. The camera is brilliant on it but for good quality photos I use my Sony Cybershot camera. It’s the best camera I ever had and the best present I ever received off hubby.

As for the editing program, I am using picmonkey.

6. Do you use a notebook to track your ideas?

I do have a blogger planner. Unfortunately I haven’t used it as much as I would have like to. When I come up with an idea, I normally write it into my phone. I have the WordPress app on it, which allows me to write the title in it instantly.

7. How do you take your pictures?

I am trying to focus on the item, for example, that I am trying to aim for and bring it into the foreground. For family photos and things I need myself in, I use my gorilla tripod which is super flexible. It means I can attach it to anything and never run into problems taking the photo in an awkward scene.

8. What’s your favourite type of blog post to write?

One of my favourite blog posts I like to write at the end of every month is the “Me and Mine” project created by Lucy from Dear Beautiful. It’s so difficult to get a photo of the four of us but with this project every month, I am aiming to do at least one photo session with all of us. Hubby is always rolling his eyes when this time comes but he will thank me for it in a few years time when we have family photos to look back on.

9. Who knows about your blog?

Family and friends and a few blogger friends. I am not hiding it so anyone who is interested in reading it, I’d like to have on board.

10. Are you an organised or messy blogger?

Taking aside the bloggers block, I am an organised blogger. I keep on top of my emails and reply within an hour usually which comes across very efficient and professional in my opinion.

11. Biggest Blogging Pet Peeve?

Reading blogs I normally do on my phone so ads that take up the whole screen can be quite annoying.
