My kids are big into reading books. Our bedtime ritual is the same every evening which includes reading one or two books. I have to admit I am not the biggest bookworm at present. However I loved reading books when I was a child. I want to encourage my children to get into the habit of this also.
When Penwizard got in touch to review their newest personalised book I jumped at the opportunity. Nearly two years ago Matthew was big into Blaze and the Monster Machine. Then everyone in his creche started to take a liking to Transformers. The love for Blaze was gone, up until recent. Matthew and Chloe love watching cartoons together now and because Paw Patrol is on the same station as Blaze, Matthew started to like the cartoon again.
And so we were sent a personalised book about Blaze and the Monster machine with Matthew featuring in the story. He absolutely loves stories that shows him in it. In a nutshell the story is about Blaze and his friends trying to catch Crusher. Crusher is the guy who causes trouble in each episode.
It is very easy to create your book. Simply log onto the website and go through the steps to create our child’s character. All you need is first name, surname, date of birth, town where he or she lives in, skin colour, eye colour, hair style, clothing colour and whether they wear glasses or not. It’s actually a beautifully designed book and based on one of the existing episode you can see on Nick Jr. Not too long ago we were actually watching Nick Jr. and that exact same episode came on and Matthew recognised straight away. He was fascinated by it because in this case it wasn’t just pictures. He loved to be in the actual
What did we think of “Matthew and Blaze catch Crusher”?:
It’s a nice length book that can be read in no time but still not too long winded. Matthew is at the age now where he is able to read some of it too which is lovely. Penwizard is a company I like using, simply for the personalisation of books. We have two other ones which are Peppa Pig themed and Chloe loves to be in the story. This won’t be our last personalised book. Five out of five.
