The festive season is truly upon us. Yesterday evening after I got home from a weekend in Belfast I got down the Christmas tree from the attic (which was a wrestle) and decorated it with the new baubles I got in Dunnes Stores the other day. This time I am going with a red/gold theme. We had red/silver for nine…
I don’t know about you but in the last week I totally got into watching Christmas movies. Once the kids are in bed I am sitting down with my blanket, some biscuits and a nice cup of tea and turn on Netflix and browse the Christmas movie section. I admit some of them aren’t great but most of them are.
Christmas shopping is in full swing. I am sure that applies to nearly every household around the world. Or maybe you are one of those people who finished their Christmas shopping weeks ago? I’ll be perfectly honest, I am only done since the weekend, but I completed it all at once.
Home interior is something I am obsessed with. I love creating little features around the house. It’s just a woman’s personal touch I suppose. Slowly but surely all the Christmas and Winter decor is sneaking out of the attic. I always end up buying one or two new bits each year.
Christmas is getting close and closer and so are the Work Christmas Parties. I am always getting super excited for these. You see, I don’t get out that much for a drink so I always go all out with my work friends and we agree on an outfit well advanced. After all, I love a bit of online shopping.
As you all may know, I am an expat. I moved from Germany to Ireland over twelve years ago. At the time, no intention to even stay in this country. However it all blended into a wonderful story, a story where I met my other half and now we are raising our beautiful children in this country.
Can you believe it, we are just two and a half weeks away from the month of December. This year has flown by. Though I probably say this every year but the year felt so busy even though we weren’t busy every month. Everyone is currently in the middle of present stress I assume. I have only started making a…
Owing a house is everyone’s dream and milestone in life if you wanna call it that. I have been a house owner exactly two years now. Keeping a house in shape for all the years to come is a full time job in itself. I have outlined a few important facts for you, you might want to look out for.
It has become quite a tradition in our family the last two years to go to a Halloween event each year. The last two years we drove out to County Meath to attend Kennedy’s Pumpkin Patch. However this year we wanted to try out something different. I had heard only good things about the Christmas events Luggwoods was doing each…
I have brought up this topic on my Instagram not too long ago. Technology has moved on so much in this day and age. Gone are the days of letting your kids play outside which felt like the whole day. Don’t get me wrong, fresh air is still very important but kids these days are quite addicted to iPads, phones,…
It’s not a secret that Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year. I mean everyone loves Christmas but for me Halloween is nearly on the same line as Christmas. Browsing the shops at Halloween is so much fun and I always end up getting something new every year.
I was ooing and ahing about this for the last week or so. Whether I should take part in Blogtober this year again. I can fail miserably at these challenges sometimes but then I figured this could be my chance to build up my blog again.
This time last week I was strolling around my hometown in Germany with a friend I used to go to secondary school with. The weeks are just flying by and I only seem to be able to sit down now and write about my adventure. Over a week ago I visited my friend Karo in Germany.
Every parent will agree with me on this one. Doing the laundry on a daily basis is a pain in the backside. I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of it but it is not something I can avoid doing. When you are a full-time working mum like me, it’s even harder but it is manageable.
Next month we will be in our new house two years. It has definitely been the quickest two years. It’s been a while since I did a home tour post on the blog. The last one was our kitchen. A house is never finished they say and it’s definitely true. I wanted to show you Chloe’s bedroom for quite a…
Parenting is probably one of the hardest but also the best thing in life you will ever experience. However it is also very important to shut off sometimes. My eldest has recently turned six and in those six years we probably took advantage of a babysitter a couple of times. We said we would change this once we moved house,…
My kids are big into reading books. Our bedtime ritual is the same every evening which includes reading one or two books. I have to admit I am not the biggest bookworm at present. However I loved reading books when I was a child. I want to encourage my children to get into the habit of this also.
Matthew’s birthday party is now over a week behind us. All the organisation was all worth it and the party went smooth enough. It can be hard when you have kids ages ranging from three years to fifteen years. It’s not always easy to keep everyone happy.
Wow, August was whizzing past. I wanted to have this post written at the end of August but somehow I just got too busy. On the other side I had my friend over from Germany for the whole weekend until yesterday and so blogging wasn’t on my mind at all.
I officially now have a six year old. As his birthday fell onto a week day, we celebrate his birthday at the weekend. He has a few friends coming over. The theme of his party will be Super Mario. This is also the reason why you will notice half of his presents are Super Mario related. He is really into…
