All About Me #Blogtober18

I was ooing and ahing about this for the last week or so. Whether I should take part in Blogtober this year again. I can fail miserably at these challenges sometimes but then I figured this could be my chance to build up my blog again.

I can’t believe we are already into October. It took a bit longer this year for the proper cold to arrive. We had a fantastic Summer for Ireland and I hope we get this every year now.

The first prompt of Blogtober is All about me. I have been managing this little blog of mine for over four years now but apart from my about me page, I don’t think I have ever introduced myself properly to you guys. In this post, so this is my chance.

My name is Janine and I am thirty one years young. I am originally from Germany but I moved to Ireland when I was nineteen years of age. Like every child after school these days, they want an adventure. And so my adventure was going to be to live in another country… as an Au Pair. I’ve done my homework on this in the background without my mum knowing at the time. I always had a passion for languages and so this was going to be my opportunity.

A year turned into two years and it was time to think about whether I want to come home or look for a job. I hung on and moved into an apartment with some of my friends in the West of Ireland. I started working in a grocery/clothes store called Dunnes Stores. Soon I rented my own apartment and I met my now fiance, almost ten years ago.

Five months later I moved out of my apartment and in with hubby. He just bought a house. We lived in the West of Ireland for eight years before we moved to the East two years ago for work reasons. We work in the same company, he managed to get me the job.

Both me and hubby love cats but after the amount of cats going missing over the years, we decided it’s time for a real baby. This is where Matthew, now six and Chloe, now three came along. Our latest cat is called Molly who we got from a cat cafe in Dublin city.

In my free time I love playing video games. My latest addition is the new Donkey Kong game on the Switch. Another obsession I have is online shopping. I am not the biggest person for going to the shops and pick up new clothes there. I’d rather check online. Also home decor websites are the death of me. I love doing anything DIY. I am the man of the house pretty much as hubby is no good at this stuff.

When we moved two years ago, we bought a new build and sold our old house. It’s so much fun decorating it. At the end of this month we will be here two years.
