A while ago I came up with a great idea for a keepsake for Chloe’s first Halloween. Why not do a photo session but do it your own way? I regret that I have never done this for Matthew’s first Halloween but you always seem to come up with these things when you have your second child.
Anyway, I thought of some ideas and below is the result of it.
It’s so crazy simple if you think about it. You don’t have to pay for an expensive photo shooting at all. All I used was a bed sheet for the background and she sat on it so it was all the same colour. Everyone can up with something else of course but for this I thought this worked best.
Yesterday after lunch, Matthew and I carved 2 pumpkins The first one was the classic and original Jack O’Lantern and the second one was a bat. The reason why I carved a bat, was because Matthew is so into his book “Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere” book at the moment that I have reviewed recently, that it was between a bat, a cat and a spider. Today we actually made the cat one, too.
This week I picked up a gorgeous Halloween themed Peppa Pig dress for her and matching leggings. Doesn’t she look adorable in it? It’s size 9-12 months. Lengthwise from the sleeves they might be a bit long but I glad I got that size because it was actually a bit difficult to get on her at first. She will be wearing this to creche/nursery on Friday too if they have a Halloween/ Dress up party.
Even her brother sneaked in for a quick photo. He showed her all his spider, bat and pumpkin stickers that were supposed to go on the window.
And here is the creation of our two pumpkins. Chloe absolutely loves touching them, moving them and putting her hands into them.
I am definitely very proud of all these photos. I also planned to have black and orange balloons lying around her which say “Happy Halloween” on them but I completely forgot about them. Maybe I might get a chance to do another mini session in the next few days and I can show you the outcome on my Facebook page or Instagram even.
Have you ever done your own DIY Photo Shooting at home?

Trust me it is a great feeling to be able to do all this again with a new baby and the best thing about it is that you are well prepared this time and know everything.
Chloe is so adorable, she has such beautiful eyes! I love doing little photo shoots, it’s fab when the little ones can dress up too. I can’t wait to do all of this again with a new baby 🙂
The photos are amazing, and so is the little girl in them. Her halloween outfit is adorable too! Would be a big hit in this house

Ah Chloe is adorable! I love the idea of a Halloween photoshoot! I do one every year for our Christmas cards. It’s very challenging to get a good photo where all 3 kids are looking! x

Aww, so, so cute! This is such a good idea, I’ve recently got into photography (as a hobby) and love this idea so much. I wish I had of done this when my children were babies. Bless your baby girl moving the pumpkins around, aww. Lovely post xx
Very cute and a great idea – we didn’t think to do anything like this last year but am determined to get a pumpkin carved this year! They’re very cute pictures that you’ll cherish for years into the future.

You could still do one where’s lying down on something. Blanket or something. Would like nice too. But I’m looking forward to see the Xmas one.

I plan to do the same but we’re not carving our pumpkins until Thursday! I’m so excited Xx
I love this little photo set. I actually saw it on your instagram and hoped you’d share more. I’m not sure that we’ll be able to pull it off with Luisa as she isn’t sitting up yet but I am planning to do one for Christmas when she will hopefully be balancing for a little bit at least. Thanks for the tips 🙂
This is a fab idea and I have never thought of doing a Halloween shoot before. My kids have outfits too so will be something I am going to try this year.
